Scott McNie was recognized for his long-term efforts to preserve the Red Hill Valley for future generations. Scott has worked for more than a decade to provide education and raise public awareness of the value of this large natural area. In the process he was the founder of Friends of Red Hill Valley in 1991 and more recently has established The Red Hill Schoolhouse group.
Scott’s quiet sincerity and gentle persistence makes him an ideal ambassador to articulate the critical environmental values necessary to protect what we have and to work to enhance it.
He stresses communication and encourages everyone to personally experience the natural environment that is the Red Hill Valley. He is an optimistic light that motivates us to maintain and persevere in the defence of what we know is right.
